Dolomite Tour 2021

exact dates to be determined soon

$4250 per person double occupancy

Day 1:

Arrive Levico Terme, Italy—one of the most famous spa towns in the world. After bike fittings, a lovely ride around Lake Levico, resembling a fjord and surrounded by dense forests, to get the traveling and jet lag out of the cycling legs. Relaxing evening and dinner in town. Night in Levico Terme.

Day 2:

Ride to Canazei in the heart of the Dolomites. Climb Passo Manghen, just like the Giro route and up through the Val di Fassa to Canazei. 3 nights in Canazei to unpack and enjoy.

Day 3

Let History be made today with the Sella Ronda. This will most likely make the top 10 ride of your life list if not higher. 4 great mountain passes around the Sella Massif. Amazing ascents and descents and you will be whooping it up. Dinner in a Rifigio after a jeep ride deep into the Dolomite peaks.

Day 4

History of another era will be discovered as the ride climbs up the Passo Fedaia under the shadow of Marmolada Glacier. In the deepness of Marmolada’s glacier lay what is called the “Ice City”, a thick web of tunnels – overall 12 km, together with barracks, kitchens, chapels, sanatoriums, stores, dug by Austro Hungarian soldiers of World War I. A museum dedicated to the city in the glacier is well worth the stop. Two spectacular and different routes back to Canazei should provide the right amount of cycling for the day for any level with lots of the famous Dolomite switchbacks.

Day 5

The route between Canazei and into the Bolzano Valley has one epic descent, with epic views. It is one of our favorites.  The day ends with pedaling through orchards and vineyards through Bolzano and Merano to Rabland. 2 nights in Rabland

Day 6

A well-deserved day off. Plenty to do or not to do. You can try a via ferrata, spin on the bike, visit waterfalls or hang by the pool.

Day 7

Bucket List day with Passo de Stelvio and it’s 48 iconic switchbacks. Another day to remember and surely to make the top of your best day on a bike list. Descend into the ski town of Bormio-you may never want to leave. 3 nights in Bormio.

Day 8

A day of choices. If there is a lot more in your tank give the Mortirolo/Gavia Loop ago. Many professional cyclists call this loop one of the hardest. Passo Gavia from Bormio or Bormio 2000 options leave plenty of time to shop and hang out in the fun town of Bormio.

Day 9

The tour finishes with a fun and switchback ride up to Lake Cancano. A fun last night to toast the trip and say our goodbyes.

Day 10

Ciao and safe travels. Options for travel to a few airports.

We hope you can join us on this beautiful tour. The tour is designed for multiple levels of cycling fitness and experience, ideal for couples, individuals, seasoned and novice riders. Our goal is for each person to enjoy the trip and the areas we travel through. The smaller size of our group and the option for E-bikes, allows for tailoring to varied levels of ability. We can shorten a day for some and add more challenge and length to a day for others. We like to budget time for cultural, historical and spectacular sites.

Tour Size: Our tour size is about 14 guests. There will be at least 3 support personnel.

Includes: The price includes all breakfasts and dinners and 3 lunches. Stopping for lunch on mountain passes or villages is part of the experience and charm. Wine and beer at dinner and selected days for après biking.

Hotels: We have researched to find great accommodations. We believe a lot of the experience of the travel and tour happens at the hotels. We have even laughed that we are a hotel tour with cycling thrown in! Single supplements available as well as upgrades.

Airports: Several airports can work with this tour. We are happy to work with you on your travel arrangements. Venice or Innsbruck Austria arrival and departure work well as well as Innsbruck or Malpensa (Milan) for departure.

Bike rentals: The rentals are not included in the price. The bikes we will arrange for you to rent will be high end road and E-bikes with the appropriate gear ratios. We encourage renting as it is easier and less expensive than flying with the bike with a lot less stress and hassle.

Registration: Interested parties should contact us. To ensure the trip will be compatible for everyone, we like to speak to all.

Deposits/Payments: $1000 non-refundable deposit due upon confirmation and final $3250 due March 15.
